Adult Faith Formation

The Adult Faith Formation is working their way though the book: "Jesus and the  Jewish Roots of the Eucharist: Unlocking the Secrets of the Eucharist" by Brandt Pitre. They are meeting on Sundays at 9:35 a.m. in the Parish Office Conference Room. Refreshments are provided.

They are using the lecture series by the author, which is also available on Formed, which is free for St. Monica Parishioners.

2025 Jubilee Year of Hope

2025 Jubilee Year of HopeThe Jubilee year officially starts on Christmas Eve with a special Mass in Rome by Pope Francis. It starts worldwide with special Masses at all the Cathedrals of the world on 29 December.

We have been chosen to be a pilgrimage site for the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon during the Jubilee Year of Hope.

Immigration

To St. Monica Parishioners,

The current administration’s changes to immigration rules are currently in the news, bringing uncertainty and perhaps fear to some of our people. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has issued a statement on these changes, which Archbishop Sample has expressed his alignment with, saying that it is part of “our Catholic commitment to uphold the dignity of every person and stand with the most vulnerable.”

In addition, the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon has made resource information available for people who may be seeking referrals to legal service or advocacy organizations regarding questions about immigration or immigration status. Because this information may be of interest to members of our community, St. Monica is making these resources available as well.

I would also like to remind parishioners that I am also available to write letters of character for parishioners who are in the process of updating their immigration status.

A los feligreses de Santa Mónica,

Los cambios de la administración actual a las reglas de inmigración están actualmente en las noticias, trayendo incertidumbre y tal vez miedo a algunos de nuestra gente. El Consejo Católico de Obispos de los Estados Unidos (USCCB) ha emitido un comunicado sobre estos cambios, cual muestra del arzobispo ha expresado su alineación con, diciendo que es parte de “nuestro compromiso católico para defender la dignidad de cada persona y apoyar a los más vulnerables”

Además, a Arquidiócesis de Portland en Oregón ha hecho información de recursos disponible para personas quién puede estar buscando referencias a organizaciones de servicios legales o de defensa con respecto a preguntas sobre inmigración o estatus migratorio. Porque esta información puede ser de interés a los miembros de nuestra comunidad, Santa Mónica también está poniendo estos recursos a disposición.

También me gustaría recordar a los feligreses que yo también estoy disponible escribir cartas de carácter para los feligreses que están en proceso de actualización de su estatus migratorio
