The Finance Council serves as an advisory body to the Pastor and Pastoral Council regarding the administration and stewardship of human resources, parish facilities, and parish finances, including the annual budget and long-range financial development. It is made up of the parish Business Manager and several appointed members with expertise in various aspects of business affairs. The members serve for three year terms. They meet monthly to go over detailed financial reports and to oversee all the temporal goods of the parish so that the parish resources can be best used to further the mission of the church.

The Pastoral Council is the advisory group to the pastor concerning the pastoral activities of the church including our Masses, sacraments, teaching, and outreach. The council is made up of members of the parish and the pastor. The council meets once a month, led by the council president, and discusses the activities of the church. The Pastoral Council tries not to get too much into the details of the ministries but rather looks at the big picture and the overall vision of the parish. The Pastoral Council asks questions such as: How can St. Monica Parish best help to build the Kingdom of God? How are we helping our members to come closer to Jesus? How are we reaching out to our neighborhood and our world to bring the Good News?
